We’re continually surprised by the number of things Xiaomi sells in its stores: Air purifiers, TVs, toy robots, scooters… oh, and of course, smartphones.

Even by those standards, their latest addition really stands out, because they’ve just added a 25 piece furniture set.

While still technically part of the Xiaomi family, it will actually be sold under the company’s MIJIA sub-brand, which includes products that are made by companies that partner with Xiaomi.

It’s part of Xiaomi’s ecosystem, where it invests or partners with a wide range of companies. Xiaomi gets to sell those products in their stores, drawing customers in by offering a much wider range of things than they ordinarily would -- while those companies get featured by Xiaomi.

In this case, Xiaomi has partnered with a brand called Master Tong, based in the eastern city of Hangzhou to help create the set -- which includes items for the bedroom, home office, living and dining rooms.

Design wise, you could be mistaken for thinking they are from Ikea or the Japanese minimalist company Muji. Xiaomi says they are made from European Elm trees, with the leather sourced from American cowhide.

So what will they set you back? $4,400 -- making it the most expensive thing in Xiaomi’s store.
