If you’re a notch hater, take a look at Huawei’s new phone. It has a hole in the screen, and Huawei gave a sneak peek at a Chinese star’s birthday party.

Jackson Yee from the hit boy band TFBoys, who’s a brand influencer for Huawei’s Nova phone series, presented the handset on stage during his “Adult Ceremony”, a live show celebrating his 18th birthday with fans.

The phone, rumored to be called the Nova 4, was wrapped in a phone case, making it hard to see the entire phone design -- but it appears to have a nearly edge-to-edge screen (though, of course, it has a chin at the bottom). The selfie camera resides inside a circular cutout on the top left.

Huawei is expected to launch the new notchless phone in China next month. But it may not be the only one with phones featuring holes on the screen.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A8s may have a similar design, while leaks showed Oppo might be working on a phone screen with not just one, but two holes.

Forget the notch, your next smartphone might have a hole in the screen
