Huawei sub-brand Honor is planning to release a Rolls Royce Edition of its upcoming phablet the Note 10, becoming the latest Chinese smartphone maker to partner with a luxury car brand in a bid to stand out.

Sid Tech World reports that the Honor Note 10 Rolls Royce Edition will come in “Mirror Silver” and is engraved with the famous double-R Logo.

But it will reportedly come at a premium, with a price tag close to US$1,500 -- a full $500 more than the iPhone X.

For that price, you get the Kirin 970 processor -- the same one found in Huawei’s flagship P20 Pro -- that can process AI tasks right on the phone. There’s also up to 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

(If you don’t need a luxury car edition, the site reports you can get the standard Honor Note 10 in a host of different eye-popping colors.)

The Honor 10 brings Huawei’s AI features to a budget-friendly handset

It’s a curious move from a company known for budget versions of Huawei’s handsets. It will also face competition from within the family.

Huawei partnered with Porsche for special editions of its P and Mate series phones earlier this year, while competitor Oppo recently released a Lamborghini model of the Find X.
