28th July 2011:
A Chinese teenager Zhang Bin invited a group of his classmates to his house and one brought a Japanese-style sword with him.
While playing with the sword, his friend stood about ten feet away when it slipped and flew towards Zhang. The sword pierced at least two inches into his skull between his eyes.
Zhang felt a sharp pain and blood started flowing down his face. The friends immediately took him to their local hospital, but after a four-hour wait doctors said they did not have the expertise to remove the sword.

Zhang Bin then had to endure a 250 mile, four-hour journey to a hospital in Changsha, the capital of Hunan province with the long sword stuck in his head.
After a four hour-long surgery, the sword was removed and doctors say Zhang will make a full recovery. “Luckily, the sword did not touch the arteries in the skull or any key nerves, otherwise it would have been a different story,” said one of the surgeons to the Chinese media.
Man missing for 27 years found in Louisiana bank chimney:
22-year-old Joseph Schexnider disappeared in January 1984. His family did not report him missing because police officers had arrived at their home searching for him following the missed court appearance over charges of possessing a stolen vehicle.
His remains have been found lodged in the chimney of a bank in Abbeville, Louisiana. During renovations carried out to Abbeville National Bank in May 2011, workers found human remains together with a watch and a wallet in the chimney. DNA tests confirmed that the remains in the chimney, which was sealed off in the late 1980s, were those of Joseph Schexnider.
The police said that he is not suspected of trying to rob the bank as he had no burglary equipment with him. His mother said at the time that he had been known to leave abruptly.
A local law enforcement officer Lt. David Hardy said, “Hopefully this will give the family some closure. There's no signs of foul play in this investigation, so as of now it's going to be a closed case. His mother is upset that she lost a son, of course, but she is at ease that she now knows where her son is”
13th June 2011:
Drowned man found off beach with handcuffs. No crime suspected.
The body of a man was found washed up between rocks on the Swedish coast. He was handcuffed so the police assumed some foul play was afoot.
Now, after the autopsy the police say there was no crime committed. He was a German passenger on a ferry between Kiel in Germany and Oslo in Norway.
How he ended up jammed between rocks with his hands cuffed in a pair of handcuffs without anything unlawful taking place is still a mystery.
