Who is Anders Behring Breivik?

This is a question that will be asked for years to come. Until Friday July 22^nd 2011 Anders Behring Breivik was seen as a normal upstanding member of society. He had been active in mainstream politics, a well-read, intelligent, well educated successful businessman and freemason. He was someone no neighbour would ever have been suspected to be a terrorist. He will be an interesting case study in future university psychology courses.

Six hours before the attacks Breivik released a YouTube video calling for conservatives to “embrace martyrdom.” That was a strange thing to do for someone who professes to be an anti-Islamic Christian. Reading his online forum comments he appears to have some form of Personality Disorder with narcissistic traits and Borderline type of reasoning.

What is perhaps the most frightening is how he systematically planned and prepared for this evil act over a period of nine years on his own. The comments he made on Internet forums are made by thousands of socially and emotionally dysfunctional and psychopathic young men (mostly young men) every day without them actually doing anything about it. In an open society, a person like Anders Breivik cannot be identified as a real threat before he commits an atrocity. Yet he was a deeply troubled man unable to cope with multi-culturalism, Islam, feminism, and with changing attitudes to traditional masculinity.

Below his appearance of normality there lurked a complex twisted psyche. A 1,508-page manifesto he published online, showed that he had clear narcissistic personality traits as well as borderline “black and white” thinking, going between extremes and skipping the area in between, where the majority of us live. His political views cannot be easily categorised.

He saw himself as a Knights Templar on a Christian Crusade to Save Europe from Islam, Marxism and newfangled ideas like feminism. Was his lack of respect for women behind his choice of shooting pretty girls first?

He had a perverse view of women. That he reveals intimate and private details about his mother and sister is revolting. He has no concept of privacy. While criticizing his mother and sister for being promiscuous, it is fine for him to be so. He visits prostitutes because he does not want a long-term relationship. He sees relationships in sexual term only, not as having a companion. Regarding relationships he makes this statement, justifying going to prostitutes, that conveys his attitude:

“I don’t feel comfortable manipulating girls any more into one night stands.”

Breivik’s hatred of women rivals his hatred of Islam. After his father, Jens Breivik, and mother divorced, his father married for the third time. Breivik appeared to have had a good relationship with his stepmother, Tove Overmo, who said she felt they had a close bond, and they continued contact after Overmo divorced Breivik’s father. The father is now married for the fourth time. Yet this is what Breivik really thinks about Tove Overmo:

He says she is very intelligent, but obviously a traitor because she is a willing participant in the “indirect genocide of Norwegians through the continued Islamisation of Norway.” “Although I care for her a great deal, I wouldn’t hold it against the Knights Templar if she was executed during an attack.”

His father said in an interview with the Swedish tabloid Expressen, “He was very difficult. He always wanted to go his own way and he hasn’t had a big need for contact with me.”

The families on both his parents’ sides are socially dysfunctional in that non of them are able to have a long-lasting mature relationship. His families did not teach him the value of a stable relationship.

All relationships have conflicts. Working through those conflicts is a mature adult response. Relationships mature and develop through stages. Relationships are dynamic. We also develop our personalities and mature through the process of working through relationship difficulties. Only in abusive relationships, emotional, physical and verbally abusive is divorce a necessity. Many divorces happen because one or both partners is/are selfish and self centered. That is a sign of immaturity.

Breivik does not believe what he has done is punishable. He wanted to be arrested so he could give his explanation of why this callous massacre was necessary. He appears to have a strong need to tell the rest of us, ignorant and blind, as he believes we are, why he found it imperative to carry out his evil act. The truth will come out.

His right wing virulent anti-immigration and anti-Muslim stance led to reports that he was a Nazi, but he was anti-Nazi as well. The Swedish site Expo.se claimed Breivik was active on the Swedish Neo-Nazi forum nordisk.nu, but it appears Expo.se is trying to get publicity from the tragedy. In fact he bundled Nazis together with Marxism and Islam as the “hate ideologies” he hated.

In a key passage in his manifesto (page 585) on the subject of Europe Today, he quotes Ayn Rand: “We can evade reality, but we cannot evade the consequences of evading reality.” Breivik then continues explaining that the root of Europe’s problems is the lack of cultural self-confidence i.e. nationalism, and that: “the growing numbers of nationalists in Europe are systematically being ridiculed, silenced and persecuted by the current cultural Marxist/multiculturalist political establishments.” This sentence explains why Breivik perceived the teenagers at Utøya to be “Marxist terrorists.”

Anders Breivik is NOT a Christian

From his manifesto, page 1307:

“A majority of so called agnostics and atheists in Europe are cultural conservative Christians without even knowing it. So what is the difference between cultural Christians and religious Christians?

“If you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God then you are a religious Christian. Myself and many more like me do not necessarily have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God. We do however believe in Christianity as a cultural, social, identity and moral platform. This makes us Christian.”

Breivik has read much, but has not digested what he read. He uses words, terms and concepts without understanding their implications and redifines them to fit his deranged worldview. Breivik has no Christian identity, however it is defined. He does not have the morals of a conservative cultural Christian, whether atheistic, agnostic or religious.

Son of a diplomat

His parents are not extremists. His father was a career diplomat and civil servant in the Norwegian Foreign Ministry with slightly left of centre political views. His mother, a retired nurse, is not interested in politics. To his family he has not revealed his extreme political views, besides that he was anti European Union, an opinion he shares with millions of other Europeans.

Breivik describes his childhood as happy with no economical troubles, but he complains that he was given too much freedom.

• any European Christian conservative can act as a Justiciar Knight. This includes Christian agnostics and Christian atheists. (page 820)
• Do not apologise, make excuses or express regret for you are acting in self-defence or in a preemptive manner.
• Celebrate us, the martyrs of the conservative revolution, for we will soon dine in the Kingdom of Heaven
• I do not approve of the super-liberal, matriarchal upbringing though as it completely lacked discipline and has contributed to feminise me to a certain degree. (Page 1387 of his manifesto)

Views of Anders Breivik

Breivik is a confused contadictory and mixed up individual as his Facebook profile and his 1,508-page published manifesto show.

• Claims to be Christian, although his manifesto did not reflect an understanding of basic Christian fundamentals, nor was he a “follower of Christ.”
• Claiming to be a Christian fundamentalist, he includes as his Christian brothers “Christian agnostics” and “Christian atheists” whatever they are.
• He claims to be anti-racist yet he is an anti-multiculturalist and hates immigrants especially Muslims and Somalis.
• Under Sport on Facebook he wrote “hunting”. He owned a Glock pistol and an automatic rifle, neither are normally used in hunting Deer. But people … ?
• Political views are conservative and supports liberal free market economics and personal freedom. Yet writes in his manifesto (page 788): “All category A and B traitors who continue to oppose us will be executed.”
• He hated what he called hate ideologies, national socialism, Marxism and Islam, yet he is filled with hate himself. He also hates ethnic Nordic nationalists.
• He calls the BNP (British national Party) racists. Yet he shares many of their ideas.
• He is against totalitarian ideologies like national socialism and Marxism, yet against personal cultural and religious freedom.

Anders Breivik Trivia

He played World of Warcraft where he was Andersnordic on the Silvermoon server. He was a human female mage in Alliance with the profile Conservatism and a Horde, tauren female resto druid with the profile Conservative. He posted only on the Silvermoon Realm forums.

He also played Modern Warfare 2 on Facebook. A game with scenarios very similar to the massacre on the island.

Breivik was the local chairman of a political party’s youth wing (Fremskridspartiet) and was on the party’s local committee, between 2002 and 2004. He left Fremskridspartiet in 2006. It was during this time that he started planning his terrorist act.

He left Fremskridspartiet in 2006, with the motivation, preserved on an Internet forum, that most of the party leaders are politically-correct career politicians and not idealists willing to take risks and work for idealistic goals.

He was a successful businessman. He studied economics, and obviously was good at it as, in spite of having a successful business, his tax declaration for the tax year 2009 showed zero for income and zero for paid taxes. In fact over the four-year period, 2006 to 2009, his total declared earnings were NKr 7,842 of which he paid NKr 4,019 in tax.

Breivik has expressed a wish never to marry and have children.

Breivik was a bodybuilder who bragged about abusing steroids.

His latest venture, an organic farming enterprise, Breivik Geofarm, officially to grow sugar beet, was a cover to buy ingredients for his bomb and to prepare his revolution.

Anders Behring Breivik is a member of the Norwegian Freemason Order, the Johannes lodge Saint Olaus T.D Tre Söiler.

He has extreme Zionistic sympathies and is anti-Palistinian.

Breivik is a meticulous, methodical and intelligent individual. Yet he is mad. Not insane, but possibly a nasty narcissistic psychopath. The question to ask is not so much, “Who is Anders Breivik?” but rather, “Are psychopaths human?”
